How to solve searching problem in outlook 2007 Windows 7

Hi,

You might face problems while searching mails using start menu or outlook search. Here we are sharing a useful tip to solve search problem in Outlook 2007 in Windows 7. This might be helpful to you if you work in Office or corporate environment and are responsible for solving your or others problems. This article is applicable for Microsoft Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 if being used with Windows 7.

Please follow step by step guide provided below.

  1. Clicking the  Start Button, and then click Control Panel.
    You can alternatively type ciadv.msc in Run box.
  2. Click Indexing Options Icon. IndexOption
  3. One dialog box will appear then Click On advance button.

  4. After clicking on advance one dialog box will appear then click on rebuild.

  5. Dialog box will appear Click on OK.
  6. This will resolve your issue.

I have learned some more on this problem.
Take a look at the following, I think this is where the problem resides:
1. Determine if you are searching a .pst or .ost.
How?
1. In your Inbox, click the single arrow next to the Search All Mail Items box.
2. Click Search Options.
3. In the Indexing section, see if the following check boxes are selected:
· Personal Folders
· Mailbox –
2. If you think that the messages are stored in other data files besides a .pst or the .ost, clear the check boxes (if necessary) and then try your search again.
If you are searching a data file other than a .pst or an .ost, and Instant Search still isn’t finding the messages, see if you have your Outlook e-mail account set to use Cached Exchange Mode. If so, turn off Cached Exchanged Mode and then try your search again.
When I do the above, there is no Mailbox –
